Her first novel, <em> <strong>A Desperate Journey<\/strong><\/em>, came out in 2009 through Samhain Publishing in a traditional deal with an agent after the book was a finalist in the American Title II contest put on by Dorchester Publishing and Romantic Times Book Lovers magazine. Her novella, <strong><em>Dangerous Ties<\/em>,<\/strong> was published by Desert Breeze Publishing. <strong><em>Deadly Adversaries<\/em>,<\/strong> is the third book and connects the first two with the grown children of the two couples in the previous books. The first two books can be read as standalone books. After her publishers closed and rights reverted to Debra, she self-published all three books, changing the title of the first to <em><strong>Gone to Texas: A Desperate Journey. <\/strong><\/em>It is now available in trade paperback, large print hardcover, and eBook. When Debra got rights back, she made <em><strong>Trapping the Butterfly<\/strong><\/em> the first in her 1920&#8217;s Butterflies Fly Free series of novellas, each about a woman who longs to be free. <strong><em>Dancing Butterfly<\/em><\/strong> is book two, and <strong><em>Exotic Butterfly <\/em><\/strong>is book three. The books are interconnected as the women meet each other, but can be read as standalone. The story features a cute King Charles Spaniel, a creepy antique Christmas elf, in an online contest, and a serial killer who is determined to take her. He doesn&#8217;t know she&#8217;s met a handsome Air Force hero who has started dating her and will do whatever it takes to get her back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Brotherhood Protectors World of Elle James: <\/strong>Debra set seven stories in a world within Elle&#8217;s World where former special forces soldiers work as bodyguards.
